MoreThe ancient practice that has helped people for over 3000 years in overcoming anxiety and finding their happy place. Learn the secrets of this simple yet powerful plant-based remedy, long used by some of the world’s happiest people. Kava is 100% natural, non-alcoholic, and non-addictive, gently relaxing the nervous system and muscles. Experience a sense of euphoria, improved cognitive function, and better sleep with this remarkable solution.
Kava, with its long history of medicinal use, has demonstrated therapeutic value, particularly in treating anxiety. Unlike benzodiazepines, Kava does not induce sedation or mental impairment. Its calming effects are believed to be mediated by an increase in GABA-a receptors.
Moreover, Kava extracts have been found to interact with GABA, dopamine, serotonin, and opiate receptors, potentially enhancing the availability of these neurotransmitters in the brain by blocking or inhibiting their associated receptors. Studies have also shown Kava’s antidepressant effects, with no safety concerns noted at studied doses and durations, unlike some pharmaceutical antidepressants.
Additionally, Kava has been shown to enhance cognition and attention, possibly through the inhibition of noradrenaline reuptake in the prefrontal cortex. Furthermore, Kava exhibits potential in preventing and treating various cancers. For instance, one of its components, Flavokawain B, has been found to reduce prostate tumor growth and inhibit cancer development in the lung, bladder, and other organs.
For centuries, people in the South Pacific Islands have used kava in traditional medicine for its effects on the central nervous system and the body. In traditional Pacific medicine, kava is used for various purposes such as treating urogenital conditions like infections and difficulty urinating, supporting reproductive and women’s health, easing gastrointestinal issues, managing respiratory ailments like asthma and coughs, treating skin diseases and wounds, and providing pain relief.
The specific strain, plant part (leaf, stem, root), and preparation method used can affect the outcome, highlighting the importance of careful selection and preparation.
